The Schubot Center for Avian Health is an academic center within the College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas (CVM). The Center conducts research issues affecting pet, wild and exotic birds, examining the physical health of birds, their mental health, and the health of the environment in which they live. Schubot research is working to develop an animal vaccine that can prevent the development of Proventricular Dilatation Disease (PDD). CVM is an institution representing 100 years of growth, from a small school of veterinary medicine in 1916, to its present role as a major veterinary educational, medical, and research center. CVM has been improving animal, human, and environmental health through teaching, research, veterinary care, service, and outreach.
