OASIS SANCTUARY
THE OASIS SANCTUARY
The Oasis Sanctuary, located in Scottsdale, Arizona, was founded in 1997. It is a unique avian rescue and life-care facility, dedicated to providing permanent care, shelter and rehabilitation for companion parrots for which other re-homing options do not exist. It is a refuge for exotic birds such as parrots, cockatoos, macaws and other psittacine birds. Many of the birds in its care have “special needs,” little or no social skills, or have suffered physical and/or emotional abuse resulting in undesirable psychological behaviors. As a true sanctuary, The Oasis does not breed, adopt out, sell or trade birds. The organization’s first priority is to provide for the long-term care, well-being and safety of the birds entrusted to its care. It also seeks to develop and build naturalistic habitats (free-flights) for the birds in residence at The Oasis Sanctuary. The Oasis Sanctuary is proud to be the first exotic bird sanctuary to have dual accreditation from the American Sanctuary Association (ASA) and the Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries (GFAS).
